Friends of the Somers Library Book Sale
October 16, 17, and 18, 2026
The Friends of the Somers Library Book Sale is scheduled for October 16th, 17th, and 18th at the Somers Public Library located at 2 Vision Boulevard off RT 190. Cash, check, Visa/MC, Google Pay, and Apple Pay payments will be accepted.
The Preview Sale is scheduled for Friday, October 16th, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm for a cost of $10. Friends’ members are free.
The Open Sale will take place on Saturday, October 17th, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and Sunday, October 18th, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Saturday has an Educators Special; Get 1 FREE book for every 10 purchased (equal or lesser value). Must show a current PreK-12 Teacher ID (or Homeschooling equivalent) at time of purchase.
Sunday is both half-price day and Stuff a "Friends of the Library" (FOL) Bag ($12 for a new FOL bag/$7 with a previously purchased FOL bag). You get to put in as many books as you can carry, unless otherwise noted. Truly a great value!
Prices for hardcover and paperback books, as well as CDs, DVDs, and puzzles, range from 50 cents to $2, with a separate section of specially selected higher-priced books based on actual book value. Thousands of donated books are available for sale in a wide range of categories, such as history, cooking, sports, fiction, non-fiction, gardening, travel, art & humor, and more! An extensive selection of children’s books is sorted by age and grade, from infant through young adult.
Donations will be accepted up until Wednesday, October 14th, and can be left in the library lobby coat closet. Please refrain from donating encyclopedias, textbooks and any books that have a musty/smoky smell or may have been tarnished from mildew.
Thank you to those who have already donated throughout the year as your donations help ensure a plentiful inventory for a successful sale.
All proceeds from the sale help subsidize the children’s and adult programs at the CT Somers Public Library, as well as assisting in funding local museum passes, the Santa Celebration, and some of our Launchpads and Wonderbooks in the children’s section. There is free, ample parking at the library.
Patrons are encouraged to provide their own bags for transporting purposes.
